Configure Windows NT Network Settings

  1. Open My Computer and double-click on Control Panel, then open up Network.

  2. Under the Identification tab, your Computer Name and Workgroup can be set to whatever you want. Click the Services tab at the top.

  3. Under the Services tab you should see a list lie the following. Click the Protocols tab at the top.

  4. Select TCP/IP Protocol and click the Properties button.

  5. Under the IP Address tab, Dial-up adaptor should be listed under Adaptor. A dot should be next to Obtain an IP addres from a DHCP server, if the option is available. Click the Advanced button in the lower-right corner of the window.

  6. Your ethernet card should be listed and DHCP Enabled should be under IP Address. Nothing else should be check-marked, click OK.

  7. Back inthe TCP/IP Properties window, click on the DNS tab at the top. Everything should be blank. Click the WINS Address tab.

  8. Again the Dial-up adaptor should be listed at the top and nothing else should be checked. Click the DHCP Relay tab at the top.

  9. Leave the Seconds threshold and Maximum hops as is. They should be the default values for your computer. Click the Routing tab at the top.

  10. Nothing should be check-marked in that window. Click OK.
