Configure Windows ME Network Settings

  1. Click on Start, select Settings and click on Control Panel.

  2. Look in the left side of the window and click on view all Control Panel options.
    *NOTE: If you don't see that option, proceed to step 3.
  3. Double-click on Network.

  4. You should either have a Dial-up Adaptor and TCP/IP -> Dial-up Adaptor listed or your network card and TCP/IP for that network card listed. Click on the TCP/IP for the network card and click on Properties.

  5. For dynamic connections make sure Obtain an IP address automatically is selected. Click on the WINS tab.

  6. Select Use DHCP for WINS Resolution and click on the Gateway tab.

  7. Make sure this is blank and click on the DNS Configuration tab.

  8. Make sure Disable DNS is selected. Click on the Bindings tab.

  9. This screen should be similar to the following. Click on the Advanced tab.

  10. This screen should be similar to the following. Click on the NetBIOS tab.

  11. This screen should be similar to the following. Click on OK to return to the main network screen. Click OK again to exit.
