Configure Windows XP Dial-Up Settings

  1. Click on the Start button, go to All Programs, Accessories, Communications, and select New Connection Wizard.

  2. On the New Connection Wizard screen, click Next.

  3. Select Connect to the Internet. Click Next.

  4. Select Setup my connection manually. Click Next.

  5. Select Connect using a dial-up modem. Click Next.

  6. In the field labeled ISP Name, type in your ISP name. Click Next.

  7. In the field labeled Phone Number:, enter your local access number. Click Next.

  8. If you see the following screen select Anyone's use and click Next.

  9. In the field labeled User name:, enter your account name. In the field labeled Password:, enter your password. In the field labeled Confirm Password:, enter your password again. Click Next.

  10. If you'd like a shortcut added to your desktop, click Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop and click Finish.

  11. Click Start, go to Connect To, and select the dial-up icon you created. (You can also double-click the dial-up icon on your desktop if you chose to add the shortcut.)

  12. Make sure your Username and Password is entered and the correct phone number is listed after Dial:, then click Dial to connect.
