Choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu.
Choose Network from the View menu.
Choose Internal Modem from the Show pop-up menu (the "Configure" pop-up menu prior to Mac OS X 10.1).
Click the PPP tab.
Type the information you gathered in Step 1 into the corresponding fields. Your user name goes in the Account Name field. If you want the other users of this computer to use the same connection method, select the checkbox for Save password.
Click the TCP/IP tab.
Choose either PPP or Manually from the Configure pop-up menu, as instructed by your Internet service provider. If configuring manually, type the IP address, subnet mask and router IP addresses in the corresponding fields.
If configuring manually, type the DNS addresses in the corresponding field
Click on the Modem tab
The settings under Modem should be set at the defaults and you can check Show modem status in menu bar then click Apply Now.
Now double click on your hard drive and then double click on the Applications folder.
Double click on the Internet Connect icon.
Enter your password if you didn't enter it before. Be sure the Configuration pop-up menu is set to your modem, then click the Connect button.
